Cypress Hill, Jurassic 5 and The Wu-Tang Clan are setting off Record Store Day with a set of re-released material on vinyl. Gov’t Mule, Phish and Grateful Dead are releasing live records for the special day in music. The Foo Fighters are taking advantage of this moment to pull in more indie audiences. I think it is a smart move on their part. The band is set to hit the Hangout Stage, as well as many headlining concerts this summer. Listen in to Grohl’s perspective on vinyl.

Robert Plant is shaking things up once again with More Roar featuring the Sensational Space Shifters. The release will be limited to 10,000 copies and include live versions of “Turn It Up” and “Arbaden” on side A, with a medley of “Poor Howard” and “Whole Lotta Love” on side B.

Uprising acts this year include: Goldfrapp, A$AP Rocky, Vampire Weekend and slew of artist are using this opportunity to showcase their talent on a day that celebrates vinyl coast to coast.
