Recently, the town started development on a trolly system that will run through Delmar Boulevard. Local residents have shared mixed emotions on social media. Overall, it looks like the city is working with business owners to help reshape University City.

The St. Louis Dispatch reported that Hagin and Edwards say the 800-capacity venue will fill the gap between the Duck Room at Blueberry Hill (350 capacity) and the Pageant (2,000-plus capacity). It will be able to accommodate music, comedy, special events and private parties.

Those unfamiliar with the live music scene in that section of St. Louis; it is a strip of venues, restaurants and shops where national touring acts visit to build a buzz in the Midwest. The Dispatch also noted an insightful quote from Hagin.

“Once Mississippi Nights closed, it was like, ‘How could we do this, and where could we do it?’ ” said Hagin, who was the manager/talent buyer at Mississippi Nights. “But it never got beyond the back burner.”

Delmar Hall is currently in the works, and the new trolly system should be completed close to the near of the year, or early 2017.
