Cavs Win on the Road 4-3

A rematch of the decade has just concluded with the Cleveland Cavaliers beating the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in Game 7 of the NBA Finals held in Oakland, California.

In 2015, the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavs 4-2 in the NBA Finals. It marked one of the finest showings in the playoffs for both franchisees.

In 2016, both teams won their conference finals, and held the top spots once again moving into the finals. The stage was set for a grand rematch.

In the first two games of the NBA Finals, the Warriors won both, and Cleveland responded with a win in game three.

Games four and five were pivotal points in the series. When Golden State beat the Cavs in game four it put them down 3-1 in the series. The Cavs response in game five, six and seven was a reflection of the heart in Cleveland.

After following the Cavs ups and downs with LeBron James, it was a such a relief and honor to see him and Kyrie Irving bring home a championship. That win marked the end to a 52-year-old drought in Cleveland for a championship in professional sports.

It will be interesting to see how the next season of basketball will unfold.
