New Orleans Funk and New York Jazz Gel Together on 'Be Your Man'

Aaron Neville recently released Apache, recorded at Studio G in Brooklyn and produced by multiple Grammy-winning artist and producer Eric Krasno.

Neville is a New Orleans native, and Krasno has spent more time in New York. This album merges their two styles of music with special guests including: David Guy (Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Menahan Street Band), Cochemea Gastelum (Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, The Budos Band).

Additionally, Ryan Zoidis (Lettuce, Soulive) and Eric Bloom (Lettuce) who contributed on the horn section throughout.

“It brought out another side of me; people were used to me doing a lot of ballads, but this is more gritty, and some of it has the New Orleans feel.” – Aaron Neville

Soulive and New Orleans artists have been mixing it up for over a decade. Lettuce, the band, is starting to mold the music from Soulive, and give it new life with the current members in the group.

This evolving form of modern jazz interconnects with Aaron Neville during his 75th year on planet earth. He has decided to not slow down, and put the pedal to the floor with a tour to support Apache.
