The International Tour Rolls Into 2017 with Concerts in North & South America

Flume, also known as Harley Streten, is a 24-year-old producer from Australia. Streten recently picked up eight ARIA Awards in his native Australia, including Album of the Year, Best Pop Release, Best Male Artist, Best Dance Release, Best Indie Release, Best Cover Artwork, Producer of the Year and Engineer of the Year.

Watch his performance from the ARIA Awards:

The short performance includes: ‘Never Be Like You’ with Kai and ‘Say It’ featuring Tove Lo on vocals.

Flume creates music that mirrors the current generation. It is catchy, trendy and lacks depth. If that hurts, go take a look in the mirror. I just watched Conan take questions from a younger audience at Harvard, and his overall reaction was disappointment.

Overall, Flume’s music is entertaining. It is soft and easy to consume, but still entertaining. EDM music layered with female vocals is overdone and continues to burn to a crisp in 2016. I suggested The Chainsmokers tap into the music culture from distinct areas of the country. An example is creating jazz music from New Orleans, or going to Mississippi to work on a blues song. With Flume being from Australia, I would love to see him work more with native musicians, to give the world a taste of his homeland.
