Cha Wa is a New Orleans group of musicians that performed on the steps of the Shryock Auditorium on Thursday, July 13.

The concert series is co-sponsored by the Carbondale Park District, the City of Carbondale, SIU Carbondale’s Student Programming Council and the SIU Student Center.

Each concert starts around 7:00 p.m. The city rotates between hosting shows at the Shryock Auditorium and Turley Park.

The remaining two Sunset Concerts this year include:

• July 20: Ivas John and local legends, blues, at Turley
• July 27: Taj Weekes and Adowa, socially conscious raggae, at Shryock
