Big Boi Returns || Friday 9-10 Main Stage

Big Boi, lyricist from Outkast will be on hand for the festivities at Summer Set in Somerset. There is an interesting parallel of style between Big Boi and the Summer Set festival within their playful use terminology. One of my goals as a writer is to mix in playful tongue-and-cheek expressions from the past, present and future. Big Boi is one of my biggest inspirations as a lyricist. I have read plenty of the historic writers of the past, and there is just something timeless about Big Boi’s verbal legacy. It is one show not to miss.

Last May, Big Boi suffered a knee injury while performing at the Summer Camp Music Festival. Luckily, Big Boi recently performed an international show in Finland at the Pipe Festival, according to his Twitter feed. His Friday night performance is one of my most anticipated sets of the weekend.

Krewella vs. Flosstradamus

Sunday has two up and coming acts battling for a prized stage time for a major music festival. Krewella and Flosstradamus share the 7-8 time slot, and I always love the spirit of competition at festivals. It has a way of bringing out a little extra from the performers on stage. I find how they split music up to be done extremely well.

They have music in the Salon going on during the setting up and breaking down on the two other stages, so there is always something to listen to all weekend. Greensky Bluegrass is one of my favorite acts set to perform in the Salon. I am excited to find out about new music during the event as well.
