Netflix | Fall Lineup + Europe Expansion

Written by: Matthew McGuire

Netflix is now streaming to more than 50 million viewers. The empire has helped reshape the way individuals consume content. According the the companies website, within this year alone, Netflix has launched in 6 new countries in Europe (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland). Netflix wins 7 creative Emmy Awards for House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. Netflix now has over 50 million members globally. Internet streaming is on the rise, and Netflix has a fall season of content ready to go.

Financially, the company took a hit during the trading after-hours on Wednesday. Fortune reported that Netflix lost 26% of its value, and the earnings for last year with the drop yesterday. The third quarter market report indicated that stock investors were expecting an additional million subscribers last quarter. During a period of expansion, it only makes sense that the company get the product to the customers first and then work on content. For each major sell off, there is always opportunity for another batch of investors to come in.

Netflix Documentaries presents: “The Next Industrial Revolution” with Print the Legend. After viewing this film, it can be seen the impact that the 3D printing industry has had in the past few years. The message boards show a wide range of reviews to this film. One key element that stands out is that Netflix produced the documentary. It was the second Netflix documentary that I have seen with originally filmed content. The cinemaphotography is well done, and the film has good and bad points to take away. Greed is never good, but how is someone going to make an omelet with breaking any eggs?
