Forecastle Music Festival in Louisville, Kentucky will host their annual 3 day event with top acts this year including: Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse and many others. Honestly, I have no idea why Sam Smith is billed. I’m going to act like this never happened.

The rest of the lineup is compiled well. I am a huge fan of the organic soul that The Word delivers. Modest Mouse maybe should have been billed first. They set will be the biggest and best of the weekend. Their live set in 2014 was above par.

Overall this lineup is heavy on the indie rock scene this year. It is refreshing to see a lineup that is not over-saturated with EDM acts. A little more diversity may help or hurt ticket sales.

Music at this festival is a highlight, but the crowd is another main reason to attend this event. I’ve met a lot of people from Louisville, and so far they have all been good people.
