Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series.
Jurassic World is a film by Colin Trevorrow, director, telling an action-adventure based on the novel “Jurassic Park” by Michael Crichton. The screenplay is by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Trevorrow & Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.
Jurassic World was released in 3D, as well as 2D on June 12 by Universal Pictures/Legendary Pictures.

The film evoked the magic caught on screen for the 1993 release of Jurassic Park. According to Box Office Mojo Jurassic Park brought in $47,026,828 for its opening weekend.
“Jurassic World” became only the second film in history to top $100 million in two separate weekends.
The dinosaur sequel nabbed first place with a massive $102 million, pushing its domestic total to $398.2 million. “Jurassic World” has now passed “Jurassic Park” ($357.1 million) as the highest-grossing domestic release in the franchise’s history when not adjusted for inflation.
This film screams box office appeal, but it doesn’t completely deliver with storytelling, acting and visual graphics.
Jurassic World continues to remake the same story, and with more flaws. This marks the fourth film in the series of movies, and another sequel will probably be put together.
My view one the fifth film is to bring in Jurassic 5, the hip-hop group from Los Angeles, to interact with Jurassic Park. They are the most entertaining group I have seen on stage, and would put good money down it would relate well on film.
After reading reviews of the sexism that plays into Jurassic World, I think that adding some diversity to the next film would be good for everyone.
In comparison to the 1993 film, I felt that Jurassic World lacked the writing that connected me to the characters in the first two films. I’m not a screenwriter, but when this film brought up a divorce midway, it felt empty and out of place.
Action films in general have been overexposing people to the use of guns. This film continues to use the cheap trick of using guns to entertain an audience. Gun use in film is a crutch for bad writing. I don’t remember the use of guns in Jurassic Park.
One of the elements that I noticed was the pyramid located in the central section of the island. It relates back to a deeper rooted issue in cinema, but I’ll leave it to those that see behind the fourth wall.
Overall, the film is entertaining at the core. Yes, it can be executed better in the future, and hopefully Spielberg and company will take more time working on a script that makes the audience want to care about the characters, and the dinosaurs.
