The first round artist announcement includes the new incarnation of Toronto electronic duo Crystal Castles, London hardcore punk band Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, as well as many more talented artists.

SXSW Music has extended the application deadline through this Sunday, October 25 at 11:59PM EDT.

Filmmakers have until November 3 to get your film in by the SXSW Film late submissions deadline.

In addition, the event has also announced speakers including: rapper and Javotti Media founder Talib Kweli, Alexandra Patsavas (Chop Shop Music Group), Ann Powers (NPR),Charles Caldas (Merlin), Sadie Dupuis (Speedy Ortiz), Alex White (Next Big Sound) and more.

Each year, hundreds of live acts converge in Austin, Texas for the chance to reach global audiences. Musicians, filmmakers, speakers, industry leaders, scientists, engineers and intellectuals from all over the world will be flooding Austin March 11-20.

This year the festival hosts interactive events with: Jake Gyllenhaal, Mr. Robot, Sarah Green, Pete Cashmore (Founder & CEO of Mashable), Emily Weiss (Founder & CEO of Glossier), Kerry Washington, Larry King and many more.
