Californian residents could potentially see a saving of $1.4 billion a year with the use of solar power, according to a report released Thursday by SolarCity.

As the debate between traditional energy companies, and emerging renewable energies continue to clash, the people in the nearby areas are the ones that witness the side effects.

The Los Angeles Times reports that utility companies have a conflict with the solar power companies not paying their fair share of maintaining the electric grid.

One of the major debates is to build new infrastructure for solar power, or to continue to repair and manage the preexisting grids. One of the current revolutions in technology taking place is reframing infrastructure for power, Internet and security.

The United States one of the many developed countries looking to adopt to solar power. Morocco has just reported building one of the largest solar panel structures, and France is starting to build solar power roads. The world is in a transitional period. It is important to stay informed on how to make the transition to renewable energy to help save your area money and resources.

Watch a quick overview on how energy from the sun is transformed into the energy we use to power our heating, cooling and electronics.
