Vertex Festival 2016 Explodes with +40 Live Acts

In its inaugural year, Vertex Festival may be one of the most dynamic summer festivals to hit Colorado. Vertex brings together a diverse blend of artists, a pristine setting, art installations and field trips.

As Colorado’s summer comes into full bloom. nothing sounds more refreshing than soaking up sunshine, great music, incredible views and good vibes.

Vertex Festival has cooked up a delicious medley of both big names and emerging artists that will surely have music fans coming back for second helpings. Headlining the event is the legendary Trey Anastasio of Phish, Grammy award-winning blues act Alabama Shakes, dreamy electronic duo ODESZA, modern day masters of funk Lettuce, and hypnotic beats with Gramatik.

However, with Colorado locals Trout Steak Revival bringing the bluegrass, ultra-weird Les Claypool in the Claypool Lennon Delirium, and hip-hop/R&B act Anderson Paak & the Free Nationals hitting the stage, there is sure to be something to suit even the pickiest festival goer’s palate.

In addition, the lineup of talented musicians, one thing that sets Vertex apart from other festivals this summer is the location.

Nestled at the feet of the Collegiate Peaks, which soar to over 14,000 feet, mountain views are a guarantee. In fact, Chaffee County in which Buena Vista sits, is home to 12 of Colorado’s 53 fourteeners.  With nearly 300 days of sun per year and famed hot, sunny, summer days, attendees will be delighted to take a dip in Cottonwood Creek, which runs directly through the festival grounds.

For those eager to explore the area, Vertex 2016 has arranged a variety of field trips sure to please everybody. Adventurous festival goers can choose between whitewater rafting down the Arkansas River or hiking in the nearby ghost town of Hancock. For those looking for a more laid-back excursion, attendees can check out downtown Buena Vista which boasts both a brewery and distillery or try their hand at the festival-reserved Buena Vista disc golf course.

Camping and Colorado go hand-in-hand. Vertex Festival brings the best of what Colorado summer has to offer to one place. So August 5-7, pitch your tent under the starry sky and enjoy a festival experience like no other – I know I will.
