Organic Food at Your Doorstep

Amazon Prime Now has announced recently a delivery option for residents living in the Indianapolis area with Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market.

This progressive step by Amazon continues their delivery service expansion, and connects that with healthy food options for those that may not be able to make it to a farmer’s market. With the amount of food waste that occurs in our country; hopefully Amazon can work with grocery stores, farmers and food banks around the country to help curb poverty.

When talking with a fellow editor about this subject, he mentioned that going to the local farmer’s market gave him a chance to interact with the farmers. I see that being important, but for elderly people with limited mobility, this option gives them a chance to connect directly with an organic farm.

Amazon has noted the delivery takes one to two hours.

“At the core of both our brands is an emphasis on quality, convenience and value, and this partnership is a huge step in better serving our communities.” – Fresh Thyme CEO, Chris Sherrell

Additional the company mentioned that ‘Prime members in Avon, Speedway, Carmel, Broad Ripple, downtown and more will be able to shop groceries from Fresh Thyme in addition to the tens of thousands of items available from Amazon Prime Now.’

“Fresh Thyme offers an impressive variety of groceries for Prime members from organic produce to gluten-free products, and fresh treats from local artisan bakeries,” said Simoina Vasen, director of Prime Now.

As Amazon continues to expand their delivery service, they still have a limited area in each major city they move to. Over time, they expand to different neighborhoods.
