Romance is in the air with Valentine’s Day coming up. Each year, Amazon compiles a list of the most romantic cities in the United States based on data from sales covering romantic-based items.

Last year I reviewed the list, and will once again help showcase the most romantic areas in the country to travel to this February.

Amazon’s Most Romantic City Destinations

1. San Antonio, Texas
2. Miami, Fla.
3. Alexandria, Va.
4. Orlando, Fla.
5. Salt Lake City, Utah
6. Knoxville, Tenn.
7. Cincinnati, Ohio
8. Pittsburgh, Pa.
9. Atlanta, Ga.
10. Ann Arbor, Mich.
11. Columbia, S.C.
12. Vancouver, Wash.
13. Gainesville, Fla.
14. Seattle, Wash.
15. Scottsdale, Ariz.

These locations do help inspire romance, but it definitely depends on your definition of romance. After reviewing the different definitions of romance by Webster, I find that the closest form to romance by Webster is:

‘An emotional attraction or aura belonging to an especially heroic era, adventure, or activity.’

With that definition we can see that romance can involve adventure or interaction. One way to create true romance is to find out the places that your significant other would like to travel to, and make those trips special in different ways.

It doesn’t take a romantic gift to create that passion and fire within a relationship. Sometimes it just takes stepping outside of a comfort zone to find new areas of happiness. Try something new this year, and find happiness outside of the holiday.
