The Werks Spring Tour Covering +30 Live Concerts Including Two Shows this Weekend for the 2017 Winter Werk Out Festival in Denver
The Werks, an alternative rock band from the Dayton/Columbus region of Ohio, has recently released a new album titled Magic with an extensive touring schedule covering over 30 dates in 2017.
‘Wide Awake’ is the opening track to Magic, and does an excellent job of pushing the boundaries of The Werks sound, at the same time preserving their original sound.

The audio production on their fifth album shows the overall momentum within the group. They worked with lead engineer and producer Joe Viers in Sonic Lounge Studios. This album was recorded with a rare Amek/Neve 9098i mixing console.

A self-titled track follows ‘Wide Awake’ on the album. It is more downtempo and relaxing. When listening to the song for a second time, it drew me in more. One element that I have noticed about The Werks is that the more time the fans invest listening to their music and attending shows, the more they get out of the whole community. The music within the band is excellent, but the camaraderie between the fans adds a layer of warmth and depth to the listening experience.

“This is our first truly multi-genre album” says Chris Houser
A majority of the tracks on this album are relatively short, with the exception to ‘Moving On.’ The song provides a window into their expansive sound within improvisational music.
‘Lights Out’ delivers a strong ending track to Magic. The album is available via their Bandcamp, as well as additional outlets.
