Progressive Environment Goals in Pittsburgh

Bill Peduto, mayor of Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania, has recently announced goals for the city to reach 100 percent renewable energy by 2035.

The mayor recently joined the group Mayors for 100% Clean Energy, and continues to push for a cleaner and safer guideline for Pittsburgh.

Business Insider reported:

“Pittsburgh will not only heed the guidelines of the Paris Agreement — we will work to move towards 100 percent clean and renewable energy for our future, our economy, and our people.” – Mayor Bill Peduto

In addition, the Harvard Business Reviewed noted that Pittsburgh currently has 13,000 people working jobs within the renewable energy industry. This is compared with the 5,300 people working in the iron and steel industry in the area.
