Major Corporations Lack the Foresight to See the Backlash of Internet Users if Net Neutrality is Repealed

The FCC is posed to repeal the regulations setup with Net Neutrality on December 14.

Once this takes place, the cord cutters from television will continue that trend and cut their ties with greedy Internet Service Providers.

Overall, the top Internet Service Providers are making billions in total net income, but the free market system within the United States is allowing them to take full advantage of their customers, and those customers will remind them very soon of the power behind the consumer.

Let’s take a look at some of the suspects:

Verizon

Business Insider reported on how much Verizon made in 2016:

Net income attributable to the No. 1 U.S. wireless carrier fell to $4.5 billion, or $1.10 per share, in the quarter ended Dec. 31 from $5.39 billion, or $1.32 per share, a year earlier.

Comcast & Xfinity

Business Insider reported on how much Comcast made in 2016:

Net income rose 16.5 percent to $2.3 billion, or 95 cents a share, during the company’s fourth quarter ended Dec. 31.

If Net Neutrality is repealed, the Internet as we know it will end until 2020. Everyone that voted for Donald Trump will have to take a hard look in the mirror, and realize that they did this to our country. It will drop the approval rating for Trump even lower, and anyone running on the Democratic ticket will easily win the presidential election. Their first action will be to remove Ajit Pai as the head of the FCC, and the Internet regulations will be put back in place in 2020.

Maybe it is time for the people of the United States to take a three year break from the Internet to remind the service providers that they do not have the power to price gouge their consumers.

In addition, after they lose large numbers of customers, they might push to keep the regulations in place to avoid losing revenue and having their stock price drop like the approval rating for Trump.

The biggest counterproductive measure if Net Neutrality is repealed: who will Russia brainwash with ads during the 2020 election if the majority of low income earners are not on the Internet?
