Carpool and Rideshare with Designated Drivers During the Holiday Weekend
It is better to be safe than sorry during busy times on the road. Plan ahead this New Year’s Eve weekend by scouting out the best option for transportation.
The CDC has reported that ‘Every day, 28 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver.’
With the rise of application such as Uber and Lyft, people can now avoid unsafe driving conditions, and help partner with the local economy.
It is a smart move to review different drivers and their past history with the apps before you hop into their vehicles.
Uber shared the following tips:
- Pick up friends along the way by tapping + to add up to 2 extra stops to your trip, so that you can arrive before the clock strikes midnight.
- Match the license plate to your driver’s vehicle by looking at the Uber app, to help you avoid any potential mix-ups.
- Switch on live location sharing to show where you are in real time, so that your driver can zero in on where to find you.
