Lizzo Scheduled to Perform and Holds the Most Nominations for the Night

The 62nd GRAMMY Awards will take place Sunday, January 26 from Los Angeles at the STAPLES Center. CBS will broadcast the event live starting at 8 p.m EST.

Alicia Keys is set to host the ceremony.

Musicians, fans, members of the press, and people from different walks of life will collectively join together to honor top talent, as well as perform legendary live sets on the biggest night of music.

Recently the Recording Academy has announced that The Roots will join Grey Clack Jr. on stage to perform ‘This Land.’ Additionally, Sheila E. will collaborate with Usher in a tribute to Prince.

The GRAMMYs is looking to bridge multiple generations with performances by Aerosmith, Run D.M.C., Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X will also be joined by BTS, Diplo and Mason Ramsey in an “Old Town Road All Stars” performance.

The Recording Academy noted the following quote from executive producer Ken Ehrlich.

“To bring high-caliber artists like Camila Cabello, Cyndi Lauper, Common, Misty Copeland, Debbie Allen, Ben Platt, Gary Clark Jr., Joshua Bell, and Lang Lang together on one stage fulfills a dream of mine.” – Ken Ehrlich

A special New Orleans cast of musicians featuring the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Trombone Shorty will honor music history. Personally, I wish more music events would put the spotlight on New Orleans music. It was the driving force behind the original Bonnaroo Music Festival and embodies soul music at its core.

Bonnaroo will also be hosting a live performance by Lizzo this year. Her impact on studio and live music continues to reach new heights in 2020.

From Los Angeles to Tennessee and people around the globe will be tuning in to see what happens at the 62nd annual GRAMMY Awards.
