Centering: I cross referenced other cards to help determine the ancor points for this card. The front of the card was slightly left heavy with my space on the left side of the card compared to the right. The back side was in-between 9.5 and 8.5 with an overall score of 9.
Edges: The front of the card had less imperfections, chipping, and signs of wear compared to the back. The back bottom edge was scores as an 8 and the overall score for edges with an 9.
Corners: The back right corner on this card is usually the most problematic corner and this card also saw that with a score of 8.5 and an overall score of 9.
Surface: There was no signs of discoloration and imperfections. The score landed with a 9.5.
Overall CV Grade: 9 Mint

As a simulated BGS/SGC/PSA grader, here’s a professional hypothetical grading assessment for the 1995-96 Fleer Metal Silver Spotlight Michael Jordan card (#13, the Silver parallel variant with metallic textured background, gold foil accents including the Fleer Metal logo/star stamp, and embossed/foil player name/team details). This evaluation is based on the provided photos (front action pose of Jordan shooting, metallic “weave” pattern background, gold foil stamp, white borders, back stats/bio with green/red highlights, and close-ups of edges/corners/surface).Fleer Metal from 1995-96 is a premium mid-90s set with heavy metallic stock, textured/embossed surfaces, foil stamping, and high-gloss finish. These features make them prone to specific grading pitfalls: surface scratches/dimples in the metallic texture (often appear as “print lines” or “specks” under magnification), foil chipping/lifting on stamps/accents, edge whitening or roughness from the thick metal-like stock, corner softness/fuzz, and centering variances (factory cuts often slightly off). The Silver Spotlight parallel adds extra foil reflectivity, which highlights any surface imperfections. The photos show strong eye appeal: vibrant colors, sharp focus on Jordan’s pose, no major creases/bends/stains/wax residue, intact foil stamp (no obvious heavy chipping), clean back text/stats/hologram. However, close-ups reveal potential issues: subtle edge roughness or micro-whitening (especially on white borders and foil edges), possible light surface dimples/scratches in the textured metallic background (common on these cards under angled light), minor corner softness (e.g., lower corners show slight fuzz or wear), and the foil name/plate edges with registration variance or micro-imperfections. No blatant defects like dents, major print blur, or centering disasters, but 90s metallic cards frequently get dinged for these subtleties in pro grading.
Populations for this exact Silver Spotlight #13 are low (scarcer parallel; PSA/BGS data shows limited high-grade pops for similar Fleer Metal Jordans, with many capping at 9 due to surface/foil/edge issues). Raw copies trade modestly ($10-50+ depending on eye appeal), graded highs add value (PSA 9-10 in $100-500+ range historically for clean examples).BGS (Beckett Grading Services) Hypothetical Grade & SubgradesBGS is extremely strict on 90s metallic/foil cards—subgrades expose surface texture flaws, foil condition, and edge wear.Centering: Front looks balanced (likely 55/45 or better across sides; borders even in photos). Back solid. Subgrade: 9.5
Corners: Mostly sharp; close-ups show minor softness or micro-fuzz/whitening on a couple (typical for metallic stock handling). Subgrade: 9
Edges: Smooth to naked eye; but potential micro-roughness/whitening on white borders and foil edges (common complaint on Fleer Metal). Subgrade: 9
Surface: Glossy with good shine; metallic texture clean overall, but likely light dimples/lines/scratches in background under loupe (foil reflectivity highlights these). Subgrade: 9
Overall BGS Grade: 9 Mint
(Excellent vintage metallic example; surface/edges/corners likely hold it from 9.5. Pristine 10 rare for these due to foil/texture vulnerabilities.)PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) Hypothetical GradePSA grades holistically (vintage tolerance ~60/40 centering for 10, near-perfect corners/edges/surface, no major defects).Strong eye appeal: sharp pose, full gloss, no impairing stains/print issues.
Centering within tolerances.
Potential minor edge whitening, corner softness, or metallic surface variance (dimples/scratches) could prevent straight 10—PSA often dings 90s foil/metallics for physical flaws.
Overall PSA Grade: 9 Mint
(Could push to Gem Mint 10 if lenient on micro-issues—many clean Fleer Metal Jordans hit 9-10, but surface/foil often results in 9s. No qualifiers like OC expected.)
