Pop Report

Overall Grade 8: 1

Overall Grade 7.5: 1

Professional PSA / BGS Assessment (based on the 8 high-resolution photos provided).

This is the iconic 1997-98 Topps Stadium Club Royal Court “King of Kings” parallel/insert (#RC6). It features a full-bleed action shot of Jordan in the red Bulls #23 with a large holographic crown graphic, purple “King of Kings” banner, and heavy refractor-style foil finish. These cards are notoriously difficult to grade high because of the thick stock, die-cut/raised holographic overlays, and large foil surfaces that readily show scratches, chipping, and edge wear.

Crescent Vale Self-Graded Overall Score: 8 Near Mint-Mint

Grok AI Scores

Centering (Front & Back)

Excellent on both sides. The main image, crown overlay, “King of Kings” banner, and text are all well-centered within the borders with no obvious left/right or top/bottom bias.

Score: 9.5/10 (PSA/BGS)

Corners

All four corners were examined closely. There is minor softening and very light whitening/fraying visible, especially at the bottom-right (near the nameplate) and where the holographic crown graphic meets the main card stock. No major dings, bends, or crushing. This is typical factory/handling wear for these 90s foil inserts.

Score: 7.5–8/10

Edges

The bottom edge (near “Michael Jordan” text) shows the most wear — slight roughness, minor chipping, and some card-stock fraying visible in the close-up photos. The other three edges are cleaner but still exhibit typical factory-cut characteristics and light wear along the foil border. The holographic “STADIUM CLUB” logo and crown banner edges are intact but show minor handling marks under direct light.

Score: 6.5–7/10 (this is the limiting factor)

Surface

The holographic finish displays strong, vibrant rainbow color-shifting (greens, reds, blues, purples) when tilted — a big plus for eye appeal. No heavy scratches, fingerprints, or clouding/haze are visible in the provided angled-light shots. The raised crown graphic and “STADIUM CLUB” foil text are clean. The back is sharp and clean with no print defects or staining. Minor surface imperfections common to these large-foil cards may appear under 10× magnification, but nothing obvious detracts from the overall look.

Score: 8/10PSA Grade EstimatePSA 8 NM-MT (most likely outcome) Could reach PSA 9 if the grader is lenient on the minor edge/corner wear.

PSA 10 is extremely rare for this specific card (population data shows only a handful of PSA 9s and 1–2 PSA 10s ever graded in the entire 1997 Royal Court set for MJ).

High-grade examples (PSA 9/10) command significant premiums because of how fragile the foil design is.

Overall BGS: 8 (NM-MT) or a strong 7.5–8.5 (BGS is usually stricter on foil inserts; a true BGS 9 or Black Label is exceptionally rare for this card).
