Grok and I examined all provided photographs of the two 1991-92 Upper Deck Michael Jordan holographic cards (one “Scoring” and one “MVP”). These are early-90s foil cards with full-surface holographics, which are notoriously difficult to grade due to scratching, clouding, and edge sensitivity.

Left Card: Michael Jordan “Scoring” Hologram (Upper Deck 1991-92)Overall Eye Appeal: Poor to Fair. Heavy surface wear dominates the holographic finish.BGS-Style Subgrades (out of 10):

Centering: 8.5 – Reasonably well-centered despite the damage.

Corners: 6.0 – Significant rounding, whitening, and fraying visible in close-ups. Multiple corners show wear.

Edges: 6.0 – Pronounced whitening, chipping, and roughness along the borders.

Surface: 5.0 – Heavy scratching, clouding, haze, and abrasions across the hologram. The foil is dulled and shows many visible marks (common issue with these early foils when mishandled).

Grok Overall Grade Estimate: 6.0 – 6.5 (EX-EX/MT)

Grok Grade Estimate: 6 (EX) – PSA would be strict on the surface and edge issues.

Crescent Vale Overall Self-Graded Score: 8 Near Mint-Mint.

Notes: This card has substantial wear. The hologram is compromised, which heavily impacts grade and value. It appears to have been handled or stored without protection for a long time.

Right Card: Michael Jordan “MVP” Hologram (Upper Deck 1991-92)

Overall Eye Appeal: Good. The rainbow holographic shift remains vibrant in photos, with strong color play.

BGS-Style Subgrades (out of 10):

Centering: 9.0 – Excellent centering on both front and back.

Corners: 7.5 – Minor whitening and softening, especially bottom corners, but better than the Scoring card.

Edges: 7.5 – Some whitening along the borders, but no major chipping.

Surface: 8.0 – Rainbow holo is active and attractive with good reflectivity. Some light scratches and haze are present (typical for the set), but the main image area holds up reasonably well.

Grok Overall Grade Estimate: 8.0 (NM-MT)

Crescent Vale Self-Graded Overall Score: 9 Mint

PSA Grade Estimate: 8 (NM-MT) – Eye appeal helps, but the light surface/edge wear prevents a 9.Notes: This is the stronger of the two. The “MVP” holo still pops nicely, making it more collectible despite typical 30+ year-old foil wear.
