Ani DiFranco, Cherub, Fishbone, George Clinton & P-Funk Locked Down for #SCamp16

The Summer Camp Music Festival has just released a second round of artists for their 2016 event.

This year a special live set featuring: Mike Campbell, Tom Leadon, Randall Marsh, Tom Petty, and Benmont Tench will perform as Mudcrutch. In the early ’70s, Petty joined up Leadon to form the band. After working with a different lineup, Mudcrutch will reunite at the Summer Camp Music Festival 2016. Classic rock sets usually go over best in the afternoon. The energy fits the music well.

Big Gigantic, GRiZ and Gramatik will share the stage in Chillicothe, Illinois. The live electronica heavyweights will be taking shots at stealing the whole show at the festival. If the organizers do have this set in the Red Barn, hopefully they have a set on the Moonshine Stage from 10-1 a.m. as well. A set of this magnitude needs a large amount of stage time.

Philadelphia’s finest musicians, The Roots, will be performing live. After years of playing music for NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the band will rock the stage in Illinois. This will mark the return for The Roots after performing at the festival in 2008.

Lotus also features musicians from Philly. They will be on hand to throw down at Summer Camp. I would personally love to see The Roots and Lotus collaborate together on stage and in the studio.

Ani DiFranco, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter is an inspiration voice in music. Her live set at the festival will be an acoustic masterpiece.
