The music scene at Red Rocks Amphitheatre continues to showcase modern day music history. On Thursday, October 3 Rufus Du Sol with special guests Bob Moses, and Lastlings performed their second night just southwest of Denver. Rufus Du Sol is currently touring internationally following the album release of Solace. The band performed sold out shows at the Fillmore Auditorium in 2018, and now have returned to the Denver area in 2019 with sold out performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The group has refined and polished their sound over a decade, and the drive to perfection continues to show in their music. Recently the band highlighted remixes from the album Solace. It marked my first time seeing the band perform live. They brought a soothing blend of electronic rock music to the stage. The weather was warmer than expected. A lack of wind helped along with temperatures in the 50s during the evening hours. Outdoor music venues typically peak during the warmer months of the year, but taking time to check out the venue and surrounding areas during fall is an excellent way to connect with nature and live music. The foliage within the trees is remarkable this time of year. In between sets I checked out the visiting center of Red Rocks Amphitheatre with a listing of bands that have performed at the venue. During their set they broke out a cover of The Prodigy. It was an aggressive throwback to keep the crowd on their toes. This marked my third time seeing Bob Moses on stage. They continue to improve the quality of their work. Rufus Du Sol was next to perform following Bob Moses. The band has been headlining major music festivals this past summer, and continue to push new boundaries within music. It also marked my third time seeing Rufus Du Sol live on stage. I found it interesting that the band originated in Australia and recently relocated to Los Angeles. Bob Moses is also stationed in Los Angeles, and I wonder if the bands have been collaborating on any material. The Los Angeles music scene is prime with the hottest talent from all over the globe. After Rufus Du Sol released Solace, they have been touring non-stop to provide live audiences a chance to experience it live. The show on Thursday evening highlighted several of their new tracks with slight variations to the tracks during the performance.
