WDBX Community Radio for Southern Illinois hosted their Second Annual Summer Street Carnival with live music, entertainment and the classic “dunk a DJ” dunk tank. The Little Egypt Barbershop Choir opened the event up with their vocal harmonies around noon on Saturday. The weather was clear, but hot with an average of 92 degrees temperature during the day.

The event went off smoothly for the most part, excluding some power issues that were solved in 20 minutes. The festival organizers pushed the event back to work with the 2014 guests. Matt Decker, festival organizer did double time with his performance in Rat Bait.

Mouth Reader, Nashville-based rock, headlined the event with a intense form of raw drum and guitar. It felt close to how The Black Keys setup their sound, but with a Nashville twist.
