In less than three week close to 40,000 guests will takeover Gulf Shores, Alabama for the 5th Annual Hangout Music Festival. Hotels and beach houses are filling up by the minute. Event parking this year will for sure be a out of control. So, leave early, don’t park in the sand, and be ready for a packed downtown Gulf Shores.
We are excited to return for our second year covering the event. After attending this festival, along with a long list of other events nationwide, it is easy to say that Hangout has a full deck going into 2014. Their top headliners this year serve to more of a youthful audience with OutKast, The Black Keys, and The Killers.
Red Bull is getting involved this year with their own stage. We’re excited to share with you our Red Bull Sound Select Stage lineup! You can find these bands on the Red Bull Sound Select stage located in The Hangout Courtyard. Performers include Chance the Rapper, Gemini Club, Mystery Skulls, Bad Suns, John and Jacob, Los Colognes, Moon Taxi, Electric Sons, Black Cadillacs, The Tontons, Le1f and Bagheera. This year, Moon Taxi will be serving up a classic set of music featuring the sounds of Rage Against the Machine’s ‘As People of the Sun’ album.
The music at the event usually wraps around 11, but the nightlife around the city and the late night parties last year were unforgettable. After I met dozens of friendly and kind people, I made the decision to return to Hangout in 2014. Look out of DJs spinning music at any location. Last year, Lance Herbstrong performed a set of high energy music in the charter bus line right when the crowd was letting out of the event. Be on the lookout for top tier musicians strolling the boardwalks of Gulf Shores.
