Big Muddy Film Festival | Schedule

The Big Muddy Film Festival returns to Carbondale, Illinois this February 24 – March 1. Browse through the films and pick up tickets via the festival’s main website. Explore independent cinema, storytelling and art around campus with friends.

The Chicago International Film Festival is the only other film festival in Illinois with a longer running history.

  • A little over two dozen film festivals have a longer running history.
  • 85 films are set to be screened at the Big Muddy Film Festival in 2015.
  • Sunday, March 1 | 11:00 am – SIU Student Center. Best of the Fest — Big Muddy Film Festival Awards

Each year the festival provides independent voices a platform to express their points of view that may get lost in the mainstream media. In its 37th year, Big Muddy is among the oldest student-organized film festivals in the United States.
