Tesla Motors has recently announced updates for their 2015 & 2016 models. The company has just released a statement going over their latest developments.

Their Model S is getting off the ground, and now is being updated with additional battery life, economy-based plans, and plenty of options to test out.

Look over their autopilot features available with the Model S.

Autopilot with Model S

The Model S assists drivers when finding a parking spot, and provides help when automatically parking the vehicle. In the city, it will notify you when it finds a parallel parking spot, then control steering, acceleration and deceleration to back smoothly into it.

As a Model S driver approaches a Supercharger station, the vehicle will automatically park itself in an open stall. The Model S can also park itself in your garage at home.

Tesla Motors uses the latest technology with the calendar syncing feature. When enabled, Model S checks current traffic conditions to determine how much time is needed to make your first meeting of the day. At the right time, it turns on the climate control and opens the garage door.

Within a private property setting, Model S will even pull out of the garage and meet one at the curb.

The new extended range option gives you the option of upgrading the pack energy from 85 to 90 kWh for $3,000 on new configurations, which provides about 6% increased range. This takes our current longest range model, the 85D, to almost 300 miles of highway range at 65mph.

Model S now starts at $70,000

(Monthly lease at $761)

The new Model S 70 with rear wheel drive gives you the option to buy Model S for $70,000. Add various federal and state incentives the actual net price is usually around $60,000. Add the annual gasoline and servicing savings and your total cost of ownership is as low as $594 per month.
