The New Mastersounds, natives from Leeds, United Kingdom travel across the United States this fall to support their latest release Made For Pleasure.
Royal Potato Family Records is a Brooklyn-based record label that is distributing their latest album. Made For Pleasure was recorded in New Orleans.
Guitarist for the group, Eddie Roberts goes over the title to the album, and how it reflects with the band.
”The album’s title is very much the ethos of the band,” guitar Eddie Roberts explains. “We make music for our own pleasure and for other people’s pleasure. It’s about sharing energy with an audience, whether it be live or listening at home.”
Musicians that worked on Made For Pleasure include: guitarist Eddie Roberts, drummer Simon Allen, bassist Pete Shand and organist Joe Tatton. They are joined on the 11-track effort by guests including soul chanteuse Charly Lowry, revered percussionist/vibraphonist Mike Dillon and the North Cali-based West Coast Horns, featuring tenor saxophonist Joe Cohen and trumpeter Mike Olmos.
The band is currently on tour starting tonight in Phoenix at the Crescent Ballroom, and continues through the new year with international performances.
In addition, The New Mastersounds is set to perform at Suwannee Hulaween on Halloween weekend. Their tour schedule shows their set will be on Halloween, but it may change.
