Peer-to-peer ridesharing in San Francisco is so popular, it has overtaken the traditional mode of using a cab for transportation. According to Gizmodo and the SF Examiner the largest taxi company in San Francisco is filling for bankruptcy.

For those new to the sharing economy, it is a way to connect peer-to-peers on platforms and apps such as: Uber, Lyft, Kickstarter and Airbnb. The middle men operating hotels, record companies and taxi companies have now been sidestepped in many cases. At the same time, it empowers individuals to work as self-employed entrepreneurs.

The waves that have taken place recently in the company can be seen as a reflection of connecting thousands of people, and empowering them to take on new responsibilities on as homeowners and car owners. In an era of sharing responsibilities, it is important to clearly state rules and regulations with clients to avoid problems in the future.
