SXSW just released a nine videos from the Interactive discussions and conversations taking place in downtown Austin, Texas.

SXSW Interactive 2016 is happening March 11-14 with a wide selection of events to partake in during the opening section of the festival. SXSW Interactive and SXSW Film both kick off the festival with screenings, job opportunities, and creative workspaces for produces to connect together.

President Barack Obama visited the festival and gave insight on a multitude of topics during his keynote presentation. It was refreshing to hear him dive into the political system and give thoughtful commentary on how it works. Watch his discussion on YouTube below via SXSW.

“When we passed the Recovery Act, this stimulus that was very controversial at the time, that continues to be criticized by the other party, despite the fact that unemployment is now below 5%.  We avoided a great depression, but … ‘Thanks Obama’ embedded in that was a massive investment in making sure that communities that had been left out, of broadband and wi-fi were reached.” – President Barack Obama

“If we make it easier, if it is being done online. If suddenly, you have the capacity to interact with the government in a way that also gives you some feedback on how your tax dollars are being spent, or why this is important, or what you are doing. So, it is a two way exchange, as opposed to something that feels distint, and something you have no control over, than people’s attitudes change.” – President Barack Obama

President Barack Obama sits down with Evan Smith, CEO and Editor in Chief of The Texas Tribune, for a conversation about civic engagement in the 21st Century before an audience of creators, early adopters and entrepreneurs who are defining the future of our connected lives.
