House of Cards currently holds over a dozen nominations, and has won 6 awards from past Emmy Awards.
Viewers want to see the outfits on the red carpet, as well as the interaction between presenters on stage. Google Trends has compiled sets of data covering the user demand for shows, speakers and the geographical areas that generate the most buzz.
This data set displays a strong demand for Modern Family across the United States. It is up for Outstanding Comedy Series this evening at the Emmy Awards. With data sets like this one, it is kind of hard to predict another show winning, but spontaneity is one of the elements that make award shows interesting.
In my view, Modern Family offers a watered-down version of comedy that is made to easily be consumed. My vote for best comedy is with Silicon Valley.
Sadly, Game of Thrones leads the pack with buzz surrounding the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.
The show glorifies violence, and I have never seen an episode I enjoyed watching all the way through. Peter Dinklage is a solid actor, but the excessive amounts of violence, in an era when television should be cutting back as much as possible, adds to the lack of depth in comparison to a program like House of Cards.
