The Fable Tour Hits the States in February
Vallis Alps, an Australia electronic duo, has announce dates for their Fable Tour to help support their upcoming album EP Fable.
Parissa Tosif and David Ansari create the soundscapes for Vallis Alps. Their latest track ‘Fading’ relaxing and chill music to wind down at the end of the day.
The electronic music fade of using a female vocalist mix with an electronic beat is getting old fast. This band, and several acts like The Chainsmokers, Flume and ZEDD have had radio success, but it wasn’t because the music had depth, it has more to do with the easy to consume nature of music.
Pop music is easy to consume, like a book or dish, people tend to want the fastest and easiest route to consumption. The problem is that in pop culture in general, there is way too much of the same thing.
Vallis Alps does well at creating pop music. It would be great to see them produce more distinct Australia music, instead of letting the US pop music scene influence them.
The pop scene in the United States has been broken since the recording industry gave up on paying producers to elevate musicians. Think back to The Beatles; they were truly great because their producer, George Martin, the ‘fifth beatle.’ The problem with pop music, and music in general, is that major labels have less money to invest in albums, resulting in only a few artists getting a big push. That big push includes producers with years of experience.
What is commonly happening now in music is indie musicians work on electronic music to fit the demand of the short attention spans of the millennial generation. Overall, it all is sounding the same, and starting to get under my skin. If I just praise each act that produces the same kind of music, with laptops, no real instruments, I’m not doing my job as a critic.
Vallis Alps will tour North America with their first show in Washington D.C. They will hit Canada and the major cities in the U.S. Scan over their tour dates, and listen in to their latest track ‘Fading’ on YouTube.
