Vince Staples, ZEDS DEAD, Lil Dicky, The Floozies and +55 Acts in Initial Lineup

BUKU Music & Art Project released their 2017 lineup yesterday with Deadmau5 and Travis Scott headlining the two day festival.

BUKU Music & Art Project 2017 will be held on March 10 & 11 at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans on the banks of the Mississippi River. This year will be their fifth year in production.

Music and entertainment this year includes back-to-back sets with: Ghastly & Herobust, Shiba San & Justin Jay, Minnesota & Space Jesus, and Musa & Otto. The back-to-back sets create an interesting overlap area of music. I’ve been advocating for more unique performances at music festivals. After decades of the standard 1.5 hour sets; it is a refresher to see this festival taking some creative freedom in the lineup.

One of the smartest bookers I was ever able to connect with would tell me he would book acts that had performed together on stage in the past, or worked together in the studio, and he would book them back-to-back in hopes an on stage moment would take place. I enjoy electronic dance music, but I suggest mixing it up with a live alternative rock band and a DJ playing back-to-back sets. The Spawn soundtrack is what I’m talking about. Yes, that soundtrack is older than some of the attendees at this event.

Tickets for the event go on sale December 8 at 11:00 a.m. CST.

Browse over the lineup video, and connect with the festival on social media for updates.
