Quentin Tarantino and Dee Rees Honored as Vanguard Award Recipients at NEXT FEST 2017
The Sundance Institute hosted their fifth annual NEXT FEST event in downtown Los Angeles at the Ace Hotel from August 10-13.
Film producers, musicians, comedians, and creative minds gathered together to share their latest forms of art with the Southern California audience.
This year the festival had a special 25th anniversary screening to the Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs. Program directer for the Sundance Film Festival, Trevor Groth, noted the impact of the film 25 year ago.
“Reservoir Dogs debuted as the Festival’s most talked-about film in 1992 and 25 years later, it’s still a fresh, high-caliber thrillride, and more iconic than ever.” – Trevor Groth
Sleigh Bells rocked the stage last Saturday, and the Sundance Institute caught up with them in a brief interview before their set.
Comedians Kate Berlant, Kate Micucci and Natasha Leggero hosted screenings at NEXT FEST 2017.
In addition, the festival also shared new music videos, and help create conversations and discussions that shared diverse viewpoints from industry leaders in entertainment.
