Matthew Patrick, Joey Graceffa, Anna Akana and Over 80 Media Producers Announced for 2018 VidCon

VidCon has recently announced their first round of speakers set to take the stage from June 20-23 at the Anaheim Convention Center. This marks the 9th year for VidCon, and continues to bridge the audience with producers.

The center piece and most important topic at VidCon 2018 will be how can YouTube improve their user experience after a rocky year with advertising and content. Casey Neistat recently published a video covering this topic on YouTube.

It is clear that Twitch is making serious headway as a viable option for video producers. YouTube still has one of the biggest online audiences overall, but they will have to tap into the wants and needs from both the audience and producers to continue to expand.

YouTube was the first online platform to offer hosting space for media producers to share their work. Along with competition, the company is going to need to show transparency to keep users coming back.

VidCon is an excellent resource for fans to meet their favorite YouTube producers, as well as learn from them directly. I have attended similar events, and found that first hand learning experiences give a new perspective to production methods.
