How to Balance Entertainment and Respect
Jerry Seinfeld is returning to Netflix with his latest season of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.
As we age, our verbal and psychological filter becomes less and less. We tend to lose apathy and empathy for those that have been through emotional and psychological issues.
With the rise of the #MeToo movement, I find a lot of the guests highlighted in this trailer for the latest season to be distasteful. As a male that can see the pain that sexual abuse can cause, I question Seinfeld’s use of guests on his show. I also question the editing and production team at Netflix.
There is several excellent comedic interviews with intelligent people, men and women. That being said, should mainstream media limit the voices of those that have been accused of sexual misconduct? My answer is yes.
Seinfeld has been a big proponent to being against political correctness. As a comedian I understand his point of view, but I do not agree with him. He has such a large vocabulary that he could avoid verbally offending people with still providing a truth about society.
