Dj Harry and Zion Evolve the Sound of BoomBox with a Taste of the Wild West
Funk and electronic music connoisseurs are in luck this October with a new release from BoomBox titled Western Voodoo.
The album was recorded between 2017 and 2018 at Rat Nial studios outside of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. It delivers an Americana form of electronic rock.
The duo known as BoomBox has been reignited by the addition of Dj Harry with Zion Rock Godchaux being one of the co-founding members on guitar.
Over the past decade BoomBox has been evolving their contemporary form of rock music. The duo layers a funky electric guitar on top a series of electronic beats. The mix of digital and analog creates an interesting dynamic.
“All of the rhythms, melodies, and frequencies add up to these healing properties. I hope people feel rejuvenated and re-focused on some level when they hear us. That’s Western Voodoo.” – Zion Godchaux
‘Selling Fun’ evokes the sun and beachside festive mindset from the southern section of Alabama. Dj Harry produces an upbeat and fun track to break away from the daily routine.
Zion layers the electric guitar extremely well with the beats from Dj Harry. Their chemistry is instantly felt with the recorded material they have worked on.
This album provides ten tracks to dance along to and test drive on Spotify. Stream a group of tracks on Soundcloud below.
