Get ready, Troubadour faithful! One of America’s most cherished bands, Turnpike Troubadours, have just announced a surprise digital release of their brand new album, The Price of Admission, this Friday, April 11th via Bossier City Records/Thirty Tigers. Fans can pre-save the album, with details on physical pre-orders coming soonpre-orders coming soon.
This exciting news amplifies an already monumental week for the Oklahoma natives. Turnpike Troubadours are gearing up for their largest shows to date with “The Boys From Oklahoma”—a highly anticipated, completely sold-out, four-night residency at Stillwater, OK’s Boone Pickens Stadium. The historic run kicks off this Thursday, April 10th.
The momentum doesn’t stop there. Turnpike Troubadours have a packed touring schedule throughout the summer, including back-to-back headline performances at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre next month. They will also join forces with Zach Bryan for several dates across the U.K., including a significant stop at London’s BST Hyde Park. Adding to their impressive summer plans, the band will be part of Willie Nelson’s 10th Anniversary Outlaw Music Festival Tour, sharing the stage with legendary artists such as Nelson himself, Bob Dylan, Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, The Red Clay Strays, and more.
“The Price of Admission” is the eagerly awaited follow-up to their widely acclaimed 2023 album, “A Cat in the Rain.” Produced by the esteemed Shooter Jennings, this new record promises to further solidify Turnpike Troubadours’ position as a formidable force in the music landscape. Billboard has already lauded their “superior, tightly-knit musicianship and ever maturing, evocative lyricism,” and this new offering is expected to deliver more of the band’s signature sound. Track list details for “The Price of Admission” will be announced soon.
Turnpike Troubadours have cultivated a massive and dedicated fanbase throughout their career, amassing over 2.2 billion streams globally and selling over 1.7 million equivalent units to date. Their impact extends beyond streaming and sales; the band was recently inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Furthermore, they made a memorable appearance in the penultimate episode of the hit show “Yellowstone” this past fall, performing three songs (“Good Lord Lorrie,” “Brought Me,” and “Pay No Rent”). Their music has also become a recurring feature in Paramount’s new series, “Landman,” with six of their songs featured in the show thus far.
Watch their Stagecoach performance:
Since their debut in 2005, Turnpike Troubadours have released six studio albums, including the critically praised “A Cat in the Rain” in 2023. The Associated Press hailed their return, stating, “they’ve returned with the kind of ferocity that feels destined to put them right back on that long-term upward trajectory…The earnestness is palpable,” while Spin declared, “the Oklahoma group is better than ever…one of the most beloved groups in country and roots music.”
Hailing from Tahlequah, OK, Turnpike Troubadours are: Evan Felker (vocals, guitar), Kyle Nix (fiddle), Ryan Engleman (electric guitar), RC Edwards (bass), Gabe Pearson (drums), and Hank Early (steel, accordion).
Mark your calendars for this Friday, April 11th, and get ready to experience the next chapter of Turnpike Troubadours with the digital release of “The Price of Admission”! Don’t forget to pre-save the album and stay tuned for updates on physical pre-orders.
