Late Night Sets Held On-Site at Gem and Jam 2017
Gem and Jam Festival 2017 will be held 20 miles south of downtown Tucson at the Pima County Fairgrounds on February 3-5. Over 50 musicians will be performing across 3 stages, plus special late night sets on-site.
The festival has announced on social media that single day tickets will go on sale next month, and will include entertainment for the day and night.
The festival hosts a wide range of musical talent from electronic, hiphop, bluegrass, house, jazz, afrobeat, analog and digital producers will all be mixing it up at Gem & Jam Festival 2017.
One of the acts that we are featuring for this festival is the live electronica duo known as EOTO. Michael Travis and Jason Hann created a side project in 2006 in addition to performing with The String Cheese Incident.
In a similar vein, Gem and Jam Festival 2017 will be hosting The Trancident, featuring 4 out of the 6 members of SCI including: Michael Kang, Kyle Hollingsworth, Michael Travis and Jason Hann. The Trancident also features more electronic-based music, in comparison to SCI and other side projects.
EOTO works with %100 improvisational music. They don’t use any blueprints, and play outside the lines during their concerts. For me, EOTO works as electronic jazz. In standard jazz music there is a wide range for experimenting with different elements to a song. Michael Travis and Jason Hann work within the structure of jazz music, but reformat it with their electronic music influence.
The duo continues to electrify audiences all over the globe.
