The Hangout Music Festival is quickly approaching, and we want to make sure you have all your bases covered for the festival. Weather leading into the sixth annual Hangout Fest is clear and temperatures in the 80s. The festival grounds should be dry, and the weather is set to be ideal once again. The following items can improve your festivities: sunblock, sunglasses, blankets for laying out on the beach, extra cash, an umbrella, and a group of friends to share laughs and good times.
After talking with ALO about their 2010 performance at the first Hangout, the band talked about the weather the first year. For those in attendance, you may remember the downpour that took place. The festival is outdoors, and weather can play a major factor into the overall experience.
Over the past two years, the weather has been ideal for an outdoor festival. (If it does rain, the Boom Boom Tent will fill up pretty quickly.)

In 2015, Hangout merged with Goldenvoice, a company owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), the world’s largest owner of sports teams and entertainment-based events.
Each year Gulf Shores, Alabama goes from being a small community of close to 10,000 people, and is turned into a music mecca with an average of 35,000 guests. The local area is relaxing and laid back.
The Pre-Party this year is stocked with a variety of live music that features traditional, analog music, as well as EDM acts that push the boundaries of electronic live music.
Hangout Fest creates a space for new acts to carve out their own sound, and launch into a strong summer tour.
The Word
This supergroup is comprised with two New Yorkers and three members from Mississippi featuring Robert Randolph, keyboardist John Medeski, the three North Mississippi Allstars, Luther Dickinson (guitar), Cody Dickinson (drums, electric washboard) and Chris Chew (bass). The band recently release Soul Food on Vanguard Records in April.
Keys N Krates
Keys N Krates formed as the brainchild of drummer Adam Tune, synth/keyboard aficionado David Matisse and internationally award-winning turntablist Jr. Flo. The Toronto trio came together in 2008 with the desire to bring their blend of live electronic instrumentation to the stage.
Black Tiger Sex Machine
The Futuristic Thrillers from Montreal, QC, Canada are hitting the beach for the Pre-Party from 9:00-10:00 on the Salt Life Stage. Canadian EDM will close out the festival for the Pre-Party, with the help from The Word.
