Harlem/Havana Music & Cultural Festival set to Showcase Rich Cultural Connections Between Harlem, New York and Cuba
The Harlem/Havana Music & Cultural Festival will officially kickoff with New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio on August 3 at American Museum of Natural History for their historic exhibit, ¡Cuba!. Lincoln Center Out of Doors Presents: Roots of American Music Weekend with AMERICANAFEST NYC
One of the longest running summer festivals will return to New York City this year for Lincoln Center Out of Doors concert series. They recently announced the entertainment lineup for the AMERICANAFEST that will be taking place August 12 & 13. The lineup this year includes: Bonnie Raitt, The Jayhawks, Don Bryant, Traveller, Flaco Jiménez, Amanda Shires, and Low Cut Connie. August 12: Traveller, Flaco Jiménez and Amanda Shires are set to perform at Hearst Plaza. The Jayhawks, A Celebration of Chuck Berry with musical director Vernon Reid, and Low Cut Connie will be performing at Damrosch Park Bandshell starting at 6:00 p.m.
NPR Music for Turning the Tables Live Opens the Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival Season
New York City will host Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival from July 26 to August 13. It is one of the country’s longest-running free outdoor summer festivals. The event organizers recently confirmed the summer lineup along with its collaboration with NPR Music for Turning the Tables Live opening the festival Wednesday, July 26 at the Damrosch Park Bandshell. https://youtu.be/bTOp_8_RvuA The opening concert will feature: Ronnie Spector, Nona Hendryx, Alynda Segarra, TORRES, Lizzo, Gaby Moreno and Rickie Lee Jones. The evening will celebrate female musicians in a variety of genres. In addition, these performers are apart of NPR Music’s upcoming list of the 150 greatest albums
