MGMT Set to Release ‘Little Dark Age’ on February 9
A Melodrama Form of Music from MGMT MGMT is releasing a new album titled Little Dark Age on February 9 via Colombia Records. As the band matures, their sound and style evolves along with them. Their 2007 release Oracular Spectacular was an excellent form of music. Since that album I have been underwhelmed with their tone and style of studio music. In contrast, their live performances have improved. People have criticized their live performances, but after reviewing footage of their Bonnaroo 2009 set via a fan's smartphone, I have to say the performance doesn't look that bad. Mamby on the Beach 2017 in Chicago Hosts MGMT, Flying Lotus, Raury
Mamby on the Beach has recently announced their 2017 lineup with MGMT, Walk the Moon, Local Natives and +45 artists performing at Oakwood Beach on South Lake Shore Drive. The event is taking place on June 24 & 25 resting next to the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. This marks the third year for the event. The northern sandy environment during summer is an excellent way to experience Chicago. Musical acts for 2017 include: MGMT, Walk the Moon, Local Natives, Miike Snow, Flying Lotus and Cut Copy set to perform live on stage. SASQUATCH! Music Festival released their 2017 to a wide range of response on social media. This year the four day camping music festival taking place May 26-28 will host Twenty One Pilots, Frank Ocean and Chance the Rapper as headliners. One of the reoccurring patterns that I have seen is a large outcry of negativity on social media during the release of major music festival lineups, and seeing totally opposite behavior taking place at the actual festivals.
