One year ago, I was searching through the first round of artists released by SXSW for their music section of the event. (They have just announced their first round of artists for 2016 here.)

E-dubble, a lyricist based out of Philadelphia region, caught my ear instantly. His style and approach to writing is highly creative and inspirational. His material and talent is above par on several levels. E-dubble is one of the best kept secrets in hip-hop. It is a bittersweet feeling hearing his music. On one hand, I think this independent sound has grit and texture that makes me want to make a difference in this world. On another hand, if he went mainstream, that level of passion may fade from watered down requirements from major studios.

Over the past year, I have been able to connect with e-dubble on social networks to build a better understanding of the psychology behind the lyricist.  The words in the songs we sing have a deep impact on our lives. It is an honor to sing along with e-dubble.
