Independent Film Producers Align to Share Insight
The Sundance Institute and Sundance Film Festival have announced their 2017 dates taking place January 19-29.
In addition, the festival has announced that eight filmmakers will be spending a month in the mountains of Utah to build upon their filmmaking experience.
This year, the Sundance Institute once again features Directors Lab, which has helped launch the careers of renown filmmakers: Cary Fukunaga, Dee Rees, Marielle Heller, Benh Zeitlin and Quentin Tarantino. The workshop will be taking place May 30-June 23 in the mountains of Sundance Resort in Utah.
“Our Directors Lab and other programs play a critical role in discovering diverse artists and launching their careers, and this year’s filmmakers are our most diverse group ever in terms of their backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We are thrilled to work with each of them to further develop the most distinctive, singular and timely stories that might otherwise go untold.” –
Michelle Satter, Founding Director of the Sundance Institute Feature Film Program
Robert Redford and a crew of established producers will be sharing their work experience with a fresh batch of new filmmakers. Connect with the buzz at Sundance’s Directors Lab on YouTube and Twitter.
