The Evil Invades Calypso Island
One of the most intriguing YouTube channels that is independently produced is by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
In one of his recent projects, The Rock captured the creativity behind virtual reality on YouTube. He worked with Seven Bucks Productions to collaborate on an engaging project titled Escape From Calypso Island.
The Rock makes a cameo, and works as the narrator to the story. His words of wisdom during the nail biting moments creates a contrastive layer of comedy.
The holiday season will see a large number of new headsets enter households for the first time. One of the primary locations for free virtual reality content is on YouTube. For first time users, I can see a lot of people picking up cardboard/standard headsets, and wondering what is available to experience. YouTube is one of the largest locations for virtual reality-based content for standard headsets. Users that are seeking for additional features should look more into the Google’s Daydream, Sony VR, Oculus Rift, Vive and many more options.
In virtual reality, users still pay for functionality.
With a large number of first time VR users, YouTube will be a good medium to learn how to interact with 360 degree viewable content. After you get comfortable, work toward learning how to control different aspects of virtual reality.
The video below can be viewed on any device, but for the 360 degree look, open the YouTube application on your smartphone, link up with The Rock’s channel, find the video for Escape From Calypso Island and pop the smartphone into a headset.
If I could only get my hands on a venomous spider 🕷 without it biting me - I'd throw that on Kevin. #JungleBrotherLuv https://t.co/8UXMrf0IlF
