Tribeca Talks will also Host: Bruce Springsteen, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Robert Rodriguez, and Dustin Hoffman
The Tribeca Film Festival recently announced the lineup of speakers to share insight on stage with the Tribeca Talks series.
This year the festival will host directors: Jon Favreau in conversation with Scarlett Johansson. Noah Baumbach will speak with Dustin Hoffman, and renown Alejandro González Iñárritu is set to share his brilliance in New York this upcoming April.
Industry leaders in film, television, music, technology, and sports relate their craft via interviews and short discussions.
Tribeca Talks also features a section known as Storytellers. In 2017, the festival will connect Bruce Springsteen with Tom Hanks for a special one-on-one conversation.
A live performance from Common is scheduled to take place following his conversation with Nelson George.
Kobe Bryant will speak with animator Glen Keane and Michael Strahan. Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner will share the stage, and Barbra Streisand is set to have an informative conversation with Robert Rodriguez.
The festival has also announced a virtual reality experience, following a conversation with Kathryn Bigelow and Imraan Ismail about their VR documentary The Protectors: A Walk in the Ranger’s Shoes.

Alejandro González Iñárritu
Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu, one of only three directors to ever win consecutive Oscars and the first to do so in 65 years, will talk about his beautifully varied work on films such as Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Biutiful, Babel, and most recently, The Revenant. Iñárritu is the first Mexican filmmaker to have been nominated for Best Director and Best Producer in the history of the Academy Awards.

Kathryn Bigelow and Imraan Ismail – The Protectors
At a special VR premiere, Academy Award®-winning director Kathryn Bigelow and co-creator Imraan Ismail discuss their collaboration on Virtual Reality documentary The Protectors: A Walk in the Ranger’s Shoes. The experience, from National Geographic, Here Be Dragons, Annapurna Pictures, and African Parks chronicles a day in the life of the rangers in Garamba National Park. Kobe Bryant and Glen Keane with Michael Strahan
Basketball great Kobe Bryant collaborated with visionary animator Glen Keane on an animated short film that explores what it is like to say goodbye to something you love. In an onstage conversation led byHall of Famer, NFL analyst on Fox and co-host of Good Morning America, Michael Strahan, Bryant and Keane focus on what story means to them and what it is like to truly step out of your own lane.
After the Movie: Bryant and Keane’s conversation with Michael Strahan will follow a screening of Dear Basketball, Kobe Bryant’s inspiring poem, stunningly drawn to life by veteran animation director Glen Keane and set to the music of legendary composer John Williams.
