Lucinda Williams set to Join for both Hollywood Bowl Concerts in Los Angeles
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are celebrating a 40th anniversary tour from when they first released their self-titled debut album.
After 40 years of performing live concerts, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers still have the drawing power to sell out The Hollywood Bowl at such a fast pace; that the band found it necessary to add a second and final night of music to their tour schedule.
The Los Angeles crowd will be entertained with two nights of music featuring Lucinda Williams. Tickets for the second night (9/22) will go on sale starting on July 21.
Williams and the band have shared parts of music history together. The Heartbreakers recorded her song ‘Change the Locks’ in 1996.
Williams opened for the band on the “Echo Tour” in 1999. In addition to their colorful careers, Petty performed ‘Rebels’ and ‘Southern Accents’ when he was honored as the 2017 MusiCares Person Of The Year.
Personally, I would love to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers perform at the sold out Farm Aid 2017 event this year, but the band is performing the next night across country at the Kaaboo Festival in San Diego.
Overall, adding a second night to The Hollywood Bowl performances will give a proper send off to an amazing summer tour.
Tonight the band will be making magic at Wrigley Field in Chicago with Chris Stapleton.
