Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers confirm third concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles
The Heartbreakers have added a third and final show to their 40th anniversary tour with a concert on Monday, September 25 at the Hollywood Bowl. After Tom Petty and the band sold out the first night at the Hollywood Bowl, they announced a second show at the venue. When they sold out tickets for that show it pushed them to give the people in Southern California an additional live performance. Lucinda Williams will be performing all three nights. After 40 years of performing live concerts, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers still have the drawing power to sell out The Hollywood Bowl at such a fast pace; that the band found it necessary to add a second and final night of music to their tour schedule. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have confirmed their final performance on their 40th anniversary tour at The Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, September 21. Lucinda Williams will join the band for this special night of music in Los Angeles. The band is currently on tour with multiple large-scale sets of music including their upcoming concerts at Wrigley Field, Summerfest, TD Garden and many more before they cap it off in late September. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers continue their 40th Anniversary tour with stops along the south leading up to their Jazz Fest performance on April 30. Joe Walsh is currently joining the band on the road. Chris Stapleton, Peter Wolf, and The Lumineers also will be supporting the heartbreakers on tour. Warner Bros. Records and the band released 140g black vinyl with the original LP artwork for She’s The One, Echo, The Last DJ and Highway Companion. Tom Petty will be honored today for the 2017 MusiCares Person of the Year. In addition, his band has added concert dates to their 40th Anniversary tour. The following live shows have been added to the tour: Seattle at Safeco Field on August 19 and at Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on August 17. Both of these shows will feature special guests The Lumineers. In addition, two shows have been added in both Boston on July 21 and Philadelphia on July 29. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are hitting the road in 2017 to celebrate their 40th Anniversary Tour with a kickoff show in Oklahoma on 4/20/2016. Joe Walsh will join The Heartbreakers on the road for several of the dates. In addition, Chris Stapleton will also appear as a special guest at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, and for two nights at the Marcus Amphitheater at Milwaukee’s Summerfest. Tickets for all of the newly announced shows, except for two concerts at New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium, will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 16 at 10 a.m. local time.
